These cameras are "down" because they are awaiting cabling by CMC. They should have VI cams still in place to cover areas. These cams are new and have not been online yet pending cabling.
Thanks for making us aware the campus is asking about them though.
In order to avoid further delays on project/ticket closeouts, sites may be considered complete once all Campus Closeout Walkthrough steps are finished, even if a small number of camera installs are pending due to new cabling runs needed. In these cases, installers should coordinate to leave any uninstalled cameras in the MDF and clearly note their install destination on the box. Cameras should still be programmed and named (final aiming not required at this stage), and a photo of the cameras in their MDF location must be uploaded to the Sherpa ticket for documentation.
It was discussed for the camera vendor to provide a new purple CAT6 patch cord for interior and exterior cameras; however, only external cameras were selected to receive new patch cords during the installation (not interior cameras). That being said, if CMC is running new camera drops (regardless of interior or exterior) the expectation is that they include a patch cord. Hope this helps clear this up.
Reference form Plano ISD Verkada Customer Standards document:
If campus has not already been re-cabled with CAT6 and is currently CAT5e, include and install appropriate length patch cords for exterior cameras (field end only). These should be Quicktron Purple CAT 6, 566-145-010 (10’) minimum of or appropriate length of same make cable. At some point we will be re-cabling this campus with upgraded CAT6. Right now, those patch cords are CAT5e. It would be good to use the upgraded patch cords now so we don’t have to dismount the exterior cameras and run patch cords when we re-cable in the future.
To my understanding for Verkada camera projects the Verkada installers where to go ahead and provide the correct length purple Cat6 patch cable necessary. This would help save a lot of time when it came to re-cabling a campus. You would now only have to patch in the new CAT6 drop to the purple patch already in place instead of having to take down the camera to replace an old CAT5e patch cable. That was my understanding, if I am wrong let me know and I can provide a 10 ft cat5e patch cable.
Responding for clarification. Anytime we have data installed, we have always added the patch cord on each end. Since when did this change? Should be installed and ready to go with the cables in place. Brian/Paul?

To my understanding part of the Verkada project was for all venders to provide their own 10ft+ purple patch cable to district standards. In this case cloud ingenuity should be providing their own patch cable from the camera to the termination end
You are correct. The cabling has already been ran from the closet to a biscuit there, it's just missing the cable that is usually attached to the biscuit and looped in a circle so they can use that to the camera when installed.
This is the face plate that was placed to cover the hole in the wall. Brian please let me know what you think and if you approve for this method going forward.
Notes on new cabling drops are provided with a fresh map indicating what is involved further down in responsse history. Brian Bowes has asked for a quote from CMC to get this going
Justin - Cloud is reporting that data drops highlighted in yellow on the attached map are missing or not able to be located. Can you confirm the drops called for to support the new cameras are accounted for in the plans?
CI set to being install for the week of Monday 4/13. Timeline is ~ one week. Note that CH-53 and CY-53 multi-sensor cams are tentatively set to be delivered late next week on April 17th. Those will be installed as soon as they are available so that the campus does not need to run both VI and Verkada at the same time for any longer than needed.
Welcome email has been sent to the campus so they are aware the install will begin soon.
Cloud Ingenuity has provided survey for campus. Asking them to quote per this design. I'll ask others on the Plano team to provide feedback if needed.
One thing I’d like for Cloud Ingenuity to also include are appropriate length patch cords for exterior cameras (field end only). Are you all able to provide Superior Essex 66 Purple CAT 6 (66-246-7B) for these? At some point we will be re-cabling this campus with upgraded CAT6. Right now, those patch cords are CAT5e. It would be good to use the upgraded patch cords now so we don’t have to dismount the exterior cameras and run patch cords when we re-cable in the future. This will hold true for the majority of the other campuses too.
It doesn’t sound like we’re going to need additional cabling provided for you but do let me know otherwise so I can have that in place for the install.
Brian,
Please ignore quote "8-28-26 -PISD_Barksdale ES - 4 Additional Network Drop(s) - Ticket # 269436 Bowes Signed 8-30-2026.pdf" We already have funding for these 4 drops from quote "5-28-26 - Barksdale ES_4 Network Drop for Camera - Ticket # 269436 Signed Bowes.pdf"
Sorry for the confusion.
Data is complete!

Not sure what you mean by needs the 10 foot cable looped at the biscuit. Am I to quote for only 4 new drops?

Fixed.
I know work is still being done at this campus, but wanted to report the following:
Camera - Barksdale-MAP-Door1-Cam061 has been in night (black and white) mode since it has come online. Needs to be switching from daytime to night.
Hi Charles - Thank you for the update.
Need clarification on what is meant by:
I'll ask Jack and team to follow up on the status of any drops that are still needed.
All remaining cameras have been installed. All cameras are operational.
We removed all exsisting cameras.
The camera shortcuts have been created on verkada command.
I added additional drop down menu options for exterior cameras, café, gym, library, etc as per principles request.
I have adjusted desk station tiles as per receptionist request.
Tasks left to complete:
-Cable company needs to identify cables for missing cameras
Attached is a picture of the camera that was mounted on the drywall that we had decommissioned.
Adding map to show new data drops needed
PLEASE NOTE: Only 4 are complete new cable runs and 1 just needs the 10 foot cable looped at the biscuit so they can plug it into the camera
CI Weekly Update 4/30 - Still waiting on network drops. Cameras are in and they are ready to schedule install and wrap this project up.
